Some of the Most Amazing Fashion Brands in the World – Part 2!

I ran out of time to post about the Ethical Fashion Forum Source Brand Preview last week, but I had to come back and post a part 2 to this post because it was such an amazing event. Even in this post, I still haven’t managed to cover all of the brands (as I would have liked to) but you can check out the full set of presentations for the event here.

To quote their website “the most fun you can have with rubber in public”.

abacus Some of the Most Amazing Fashion Brands in the World Part 2!I am a big fan of African prints but have never really come across much in the way of beaded jewellery so was really interested to see Abacus Beadwork, a brand making jewellery in lots of brilliant colours and styles ranging from bold statement pieces to more subtle styles. The jewellery is a great combination of Zulu heritage with contemporary design and also helps to support traditional Zulu bead craftmanship.

My Dress for the EFF Source Awards

021 My Dress for the EFF Source Awards

Dress – Edun
Head wear – House of Beth

It seems to have taken me a ridiculously long time to post this outfit, actually I am not really sure where the last week has gone to. This is what I wore to the Ethical Fashion Forum Source Awards Reception last Tuesday. The dress was an early Christmas pressy from Mr S although I (of course) picked it out myself.

I actually took some time to find just the right dress but finally decided in this one by Edun which was reduced at The Natural Store. The Natural Store is not somewhere I had ever considered shopping before but I was really pleasantly surprised. The customer service was great and they made a huge effort to ensure that I received my dress on time depsite me leaving it until the last minute to order. The dress looked like an abstract print on the website but when I recieved it and looked more carefully, you could actually see the shape of owls in the print. I would definitely recommend checking out the Natural store, they have a great selection of ‘high end’ ethical fashion including dresses by Nina Garcia and Maiya.

You can also find a great selection of Edun dresses on my new website www.style-is.co.uk.

Oh and if you wanted to find out more about the Ethical Fashion Forum Source Awards, you can read my previous post here or you can see a full list of the winners here.

Six Items Challenge – Week 3

Third week of the six items challenge and I will have to say I am getting pretty bored with my choice of clothes. Every morning when I open  my wardrobe I am confronted by a rail of clothes that I can’t wear. Still not too much longer now and this week my new hat has arrived from Pachacuti ready for hols so I have been using it to add a bit of interest to my outfits.

I haven’t posted every single outfit this week as a few have been a little bit repetitive and I have had some fairly severe bad hair days.

My neckscarf/ accessory is from Round London.

0521 Six Items Challenge Week 3

This bag is from Oxfam Fashion – one of my favourite places to shop!

This neckalce is from ethical jewellery brand Made UK Everyone says the tights make me look like I have tattoos on my legs. I love this look but could never committ to having just one design on my legs. I would so change my mind.

0981 Six Items Challenge Week 3

This obi belt was handmade and is great for giving loose fitting clothes a bit of shape.hat Six Items Challenge Week 3

And here is my new hat!

Ands so on to the last week of the challenge. I am so pleased the sun has finally come out and really enjoying having dinner in the garden every evening.

Next week I am speaking on the visibility panel for the Ethical Fashion Forum Tipping Point Summit, it will bring together leading pioneers in fashion and sustainability from all over the world and across the entire supply chain to network, share ideas, learn from best practice, and collaborate. I can’t wait! Hope you have an amazing week.
