For day 22 of 30 days of Ethical Fashion, I wanted to share Good Fibres, a project that combines a community with fashion and art. The idea is fairly simple but I love it. A designer (that could be anyone, even you or I) submits their piece of art work. The work is published on the site and the community will vote on which pieces they would like to see go to print. The most popular designs are then printed on to 100% cotton, ethically sourced tees.
It is kind of a win:win:win situation because the designer gets to build their profile and showcase their work. If there design gets printed, they get paid 10% commission on the sales of their t shirts. For each t shirt sold, one is also donated to a charitable cause. I also love the idea that this kind of feedback/voting could help to cut down on waste.
There are some pretty amazing designs on the site, but if you don’t like any of them then why not have a go at submitting your own. Who said Ethical Fashion was boring?
With warmest wishes
