uyichi is an organic denim brand that also offers a range of other sustainable casual clothing. Kuyichi is regarded as one of the pioneers of ethical fashion, set up in 2001 by NGO Solidaridad who wanted to introduce organic cotton to the fashion industry following their experience of development of fair trade organic coffee and fruit business in Latin America. They first tried to convince the big players in the denim industry to use organic cotton but none were interested so they decided to set up their own brand ‘Kuyichi’. The brand continues to innovate by using and experiment with fabrics including recycled polyester, Tencel®, spare denim and hemp. They aim to use as close to 100% sustainable fabrics as possible.
