This weekend, we put our Christmas decorations up so I started to feel really Christmassy. Actually, when I say ‘we’, Mr Style Eyes and the children put them up, whilst I went shopping. I think he probably prefers it that way as I am far too controlling with that sort of thing.
I also got my Christmas pressy from Mr Style Eyes early, a new camera. I already have a Nikon D40 but I have been having a few problems with it lately and I think it may well need to be sent of for repair. It is also just too heavy for me to take when I am out and about especially travelling up to London, so I needed something a little more portable. I got a Nikon Coolpic L120 as they were on sale at half price in Argos, a bargain that was just too good to miss. I opted to have it now rather than wait to have it wrapped up on Christmas day as there are a few events that I would really like to use it for before Christmas.
I tried on my outfit for Mr Style Eyes work Christmas party and got the girls to test out the new camera by taking some photos. I am wearing the dress that I got from a vintage fashion fair in Bath, shoes by Dune, which I have had for years and earrings from a local vintage shop. I may also wear a grey faux faur wrap which I bought in a local charity shop for a few pounds and black tights with it on the actual night.
I tried doing my hair in a kind of fifties hairstyle. This was a fairly rough try, I will make a bit more effort with it when I actually go to the party. I tried to take a picture of it but was quite difficult to get the right angle to actually see it. The problem with my hair is that it is a free spirit and does not like to be told what to do, I very rarely style it or even blow dry it as it just goes frizzy. I am hoping that I will be able to keep it under control for at least a few hours with lots of styling products and hair grips. Any tips will be gratefully received.
As I have been feeling so cold and coldy this weekend, I had a glass or two of mulled wine to warm me up and a chocolate angel (the children scoffed the rest). I love the pretty papers they are wrapped in and saved them all for making something with- no idea what though!
I also spend some time making something for the Christmas bloggers swap. I won’t reveal what it is now but I was really pleased with the result so I hope that my swap partner loves it.
On a sad note, our little cat, Mia got runover last week, I had to go and collect her body from the main road which was a fairly unpleasant experience. We are all really missing her she was such a pretty and friendly cat and was only 4 years old. Its funny how attached you become to animals without even realising.
I hope that you had a lovely weekend. How have you been getting ready for Christmas? What party outfits do you have planned for next few weeks?
With warmest wishes
Ceri X

Sorry to hear about your cat. Did you know who did it? I adore cats and have my own cat too. However, I left in the province so my Dad can tend to it.
That dress you’re wearing is very classy too!

I’m so sorry about your cat <3
I love that dress, you look stunning xxx
So sorry about Mia. I love cats, but sadly all but one I had as a child died on the road in the end. Only now thinking I’d like one again but I know how devastating it is when something happens to them.
You look gorgeous in your outfit. I want a pretty chocolate angel now.

I’m so sorry about your cat, I actually cried when I read that. That must have been very difficult especially having to retrieve her body.
On a lighter note, your dress is fantastic with the lace detail on the bodice and it suits you perfectly, the shoes are a chic choice.

I’m so sorry about Mia, she looked a beautiful little cat and losing a beloved pet is always heartbreaking.
