Lavinia’s Vintage Tea Party

I have been meaning to go along to one of Lavinia’s Tea Party’s for a while and on Sunday, I finally got the chance. Lavinia has a vintage china hire company and also organises tea parties complete with tea (of course), cakes, set up, styling, music from the forties and fifties and a hostess. She also sells vintage cake stands through her Etsy shop. On Sunday the tea party was held in aid of the Royal British Legion and included vintage inspired cabaret.

Forties and fifties vintage fashion was optional. Whilst not everyone dressed up there were lots of people who made a huge effort with their outfits. Unfortunately I was having such a good time that I forgot to take pictures of the beautiful vintage china and delicious homemade cakes.

Here is Lavinia in her beautiful dress by Vivienne of Holloway.

Oh and another stunning Vivienne of Holloway dress!

There were stalls packed with vintage accessories and goodies. This stall was by She Unique a vintage shop in Cirencester. For anyone that wants to learn how to be super stylish, they run school of style workshops including hairstyling, make up, posture, deportment and English Tea for just £25.

This stall by As Long As it Sparkles sold some great vintage accessories and homeware. And doesn’t her hair (by She Unique) look amazing?

Her is Shelia of She Unique and the compere for the afternoon, who really made me laugh with his suitcase of stockings.

Naturally, I couldn’t pass by the opportunity to get dressed up. I wore a vintage fifties dress, with shoes by Irregular Choice and handbag from Oxfam plus a leather hair flower.

If you don’t already know (apologies if you do and I am starting to sound like a broken record), I am running an outfit competition with over £300 of ethical fashion prizes to be won. You have just over a week left to enter and can find out more here.

I hope you are having a good week

With warmest wishes

  1. Wonderful! Getting dressed up is so much fun! I love your vintage dress … very nice.

  2. I like the girl with the hair rolls and your vintage floral flock is joyful.
