I have noticed plenty of leather skirts on the high street for autumn and winter. I particularly love the pencil skirts as they can be worn with a t shirt for a rock inspired look or a blouse for a more feminine seventies inspired ladylike look.
The longer length means that they are more classy than trashy but I would also wear these skirts with high cut and slightly loose tops tucked in to balance the look out. They are also great for the evening with a vest top or camisole.
If you fancy treating yourself to a leather skirt, it is well worth considering a second hand or vintage one. Leather is one of the few materials that can actually improve with age, so you can get yourself a beautiful and on trend piece of clothing and also save yourself a few pennies or pounds. Here are some that I have found.
Buttersoft Nappa Leather Pencil Skirt – Penny Dreadful Vintage, Etsy – Size small, £40
Vintage High Waist Leather Skirt – Onceuponatime ASOS Market Place, Size 10, £20
Wallis Black Leather Skirt – Oxfam – Size 14, £14.99
Miss Selfridge Black Leather Skirt – Oxfam – size 12, £19.99
Black Leather Pencil Skirt with Side Split – Rokit Vintage, size 8, £25.99
Knee length Leather Skirt – Beyond Retro, waist 26 inch, £21
Grey Vintage Leather Skirt – Lady Pearls Vintage Boutique – size 10, £30
If none of these take your fancy, there are loads more out there and don’t forget to check out your charity and vintage shops.
How would you wear a leather skirt this autumn? they would look great with a blouse from www.style-is.co.uk.
With warmest wishes

I must admit I really want one and have been looking on ebay but can’t find the right style in the right size. x
Utterly obsessed with leather skirts, I’ve purchased one and featured two more in recent weeks on my blog so this post really got my attention! Gorgeous finds I love how you show that leather can be completely classy as well as hot 🙂
At the moment I’m teaming my leather skirt with a slightly oversized jumper (tucked in) black tights + heeled ankle booties. I’ve also teamed it with a silk t-shirt and shrug for a night out 🙂

Pencil skirts and I don’t get along, but these are gorgeous x
Although I really like the look of this trend, I just don’t think I can pull it off for myself! I’ve never felt like I could really wear leather for whatever reason!

Yes! I do have a vintage leather skirt that would have cost a bomb if it were new: buttery soft leather. It’s a bit short but I do love it. The only concern with leather skirts is they tend to add bulk to the silhouette (I find).

I’ve found a few recently which have soon been snapped up when I’ve listed them on eBay. Like Laura I don’t do pencil skirts but on the right person with a sassy blouse they look fantastic. x

I love leather and leather skirts! While I am obsessed with leather jackets, I have been so exctited and inspired by the leather skirts. They are so fun! I love how many different ways you can wear them and make them look like SO many different styles! You can do rocker, chic, glamorous, retro, whatever you want! It’s a great piece that doesn’t seem to have a lot of versatility on the surface, but it really does!
Congratulations on the move over to wordpress! It’s quite exhilirating to get a new layout and site up and running!! It looks great!

Ooh thank you for including me! I actually bought that skirt hoping it would fit me, but it was much too small so into the shop it had to go. I haven’t yet found a leather skirt that was just right on me, but I keep searching x
I need a leather pencil skirt now!! I love how versatile they are!

Hiya Ceri,
At the moment I’m all about leather shorts. When I was visiting my folks a little while ago I found a pair that I bought in the Sisley sale back in 1996. I never in a million years thought that I’d fit into them but I actually still do. I prefer the shorts because they are not as constrictive as a leather pencil skirt…I once tried bowling wearing one of those…bad move to say the least…ended up with a rip all the way up to the…you know what 🙁
Great blog my dear, added to faves.
